This is the type of movies I like. It is not a big-budget Hollywood film. It is not like a dramatic story as much as the script can be. Even the cinemaphotography is shot in a low key, sometimes almost looked like a documentary film. Well? So? What's so great about this type of movies? -I am not sure if I can explain about it. Well, I try it again, anyway.

A great film always delivers a great line by a character who is the main actor/actress as well as the supporting actor/actress. If the movie is good, the character comes to closer to our lives, (no matter if it is realistic or not,) and make a connection. Come to think about it, a great work of art has always something to say, and it gives us the connection; hope, courage, compassion, and pride, etc. Somehow, the independent movie tends to express the connection to the better quality than the production of Hollywood film. Thanks to the golden decade of Miramax film, Next Stop, Wonderland became one of the beautiful triumph of that kind of independent film. Don't you miss a great film by Miramax? It is rough, but it has a great quality. The film delivers great lines here and there. And the most important line of this movie is delivered in the middle of film and it takes it to the end of film, which is this;

"My father said if you can learn to contemplate just one beautiful thing every day, it gives you something very special."

I always like to see a drama. The story is about a romantic comedy, but still it shows the drama, in the name of art and humanity, to make the main woman' life three-dimentional. Life is a stage play. She lost his father, dumbed by her boyfriend, and look for a right man to meet. Everything is in-between, so that she does not know how to feel and express herself for being alone. Even I am a man and there's no space to feel the same thing in the woman's way, however, I could be related to her father's philosophy as well as her. When she meets a man to share his father's philosophy, the line works to be something more convincing. Film is always about delivering great dialogues with a good cinemaphotography, and music, with editing...well, those are the ingredients of 4 stars film to me.
